HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
In 1930 John Bain, resident naval architect at Silvers Rosneath yard drew the lines for a new class of motor-yacht christened the Silverette. In 1931 June Amelia was launched. The designed was a great success and orders soon came in to the yard for the standard Silverette a sturdy 30ft vessel with optional centre wheelhouse / aft cabin ideal for exploring the Western Isles.
June Amelia is of traditional carvel construction on steam bent oak timbers through copper fastened.
Teak laid decks and varnished mahogany wheelhouse, aft cabin, skylight, hatches and rails. Varnished teak sheer planks.
Traditional accommodation with four berths and Elect tube heating.
Aft Stateroom with double berth and washbasin.
Saloon with two settee berths, lockers and access to forepeak with WC.
Thornycroft 50hp diesel engine fitted in 2004.
New bermudian rig in 2012 and new suit of tan Jameson sails in 2012.
Re-wired 2003, 240 volt shore power.
Delta Anchor and 40 metres of chain.

An attractive, well built traditional motor-yacht the first of a successful line of 30ft. Silverette Class vessels, formerly owned and restored for the Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane. Owner moving abroad hence the sale. Spring 2014 hull re-paint just completed ready for the season.
