Thornycroft/Nelson designs are synonymous with fast working craft, patrol boats and the like where sea-keeping qualities at speed were the priority. The Nelson 34, famously built on the Isle of Wight since 1962, were regularly seen on pilot duties or in use by the Royal Navy to ferry officers to their ships. When retired from service they are often fitted out as motor cruisers and enjoyed by owners who appreciate style.
There are many different internal configurations on the same hull. This particular relatively early 34 has the shorter wheelhouse which gives good accommodation forward and ...

This is a lovely boat, first built on the south coast (Shoreham I believe) for the Navy, in 1969, and worked as a fast harbour launch in Gibralter and possibly Malta up until the turn of the (21st) century. She was bought in 2010 and converted to a sea ...

'HUMBUG' was chosen by its present owner for safety, seakeeping qualities, layout, practicality, comfort, and Nelson looks, and she has never disappointed.

Accommodation is spacious and comfortable for 3-4 adults with good headroom. Ample storage space. Turns on a sixpence at low speed but has plenty of power for open water.
The Galley is fully equipped with crockery, cutlery, utensils, and pans (see invent...

We are delighted to present this Nelson 42 Pilot to the market, she was built by Automarine on the Isle of Wight seeing active service as a pilot boat before conversion to a cruiser. Consequently, she is built to the highest standards and has a distinct feeling of solidity. In 1996 this Nelson 42 Pilot went under a conversion and substantial process, which has continued throughout the current ownership. The end result you see today is a beautifully presented cruiser with all the creature comforts you might expect, achieved within a classic Nelson design combining the mo...
