The Cutlass 27 was designed by Eric White of Marcon and Alan Hill, one of the pioneers of GRP yacht design, who was responsible for a wide range of successful designs including the Trident 24, Sabre 27 and Moody Halberdier. The first Cutlass 27s were built in the late 1960s and the boat remained in production until around the mid-1980s - approximately 200 are believed to have been built.
The strong, traditional design with a short counter stern and long, lead encapsulated, fixed centre keel giving a ballast ratio of over 50% ensures excellent speed and sea-keeping abilities. She carries her sail exceptionally well in a good breeze, yet remains manageable and can be sailed single-handed with ease if required.

1970, professionally restored Cutlass 27, TOPSIDES RE-SPRAYED 2018, original grey polished superstructure, windows re-sealed, epoxy coated below the waterline, mast step strengthened, lovely interior, superb classic!
Yanmar 1GM10 10hp single cylinder raw water cooled inboard diesel, installed new in 1987.
1x 12v battery (2017) charged via engine alternator. Shaft drive to 3 bladed fixed propeller. 5 gallon fuel tank. Engine removed/overhauled 2013 inc new water pump.
Compass, Navman Combined depth and speed log, Kelvin Hughes VHF radio, Autohelm tillerpilot, navigation lights - separate port and starboard lights to pulpit, stern light to pushpit, masthead tricolour and anchor light.
Manual bilge pump (2013).
Stainless steel pushpit, pulpit and guardwires, varnished tiller, sheet winches and halyard winches, anchor with chain, mooring warps and fenders.
Bermudan sloop rig, anodised alloy mast and boom, stainless steel standing rigging.
Mainsail - 2 slab reefing points. Sailspar genoa roller reefing system with furling No 1 Genoa.
Galley with Plastimo gas cooker with 2 burners and grill. Heads, with portholes, wet hanging locker and shelves, separated by folding doors from the forecabin and saloon. Jabsco marine WC.
4 berths. Two berth forecabin with hatch, shelves and windows. The saloon incorporates two full bunks, a galley, chart table, storage lockers and an adjustable, removable dining table. Varnished floors and electric lights in all cabins.
