Walton on the Naze Essex UK
New to the market, Sparkman and Stephens Deb 33 "Donabella III". A well proportioned Sparkman and Stephens design, the Deb 33 is a versatile family cruiser. First introduced as a wood prototype in the late 1960's, GRP production began in 1969. Donabella III is an early GRP boat specified with the with a bronze centreplate. Draft is just 1.09m with c'board up and 2m with c'board down.
Donabella III has cruised across the Atlantic in her early days, visiting the Azores and was raced in the RORC series from 1975 to 1980. She also took part in one of the Three peaks races.
Sadly, Donabella has been in decline since the owner passed away, and for sentimental reasons, the boat was not sold. It Is fair to say that Donabella is a project requiring repair and upgrade throughout, particularly to the exterior, the mast is currently stored inside but can be viewed. the engine is likely to require replacement too. This said, the boat has beautiful lines, the interior is in reasonable condition and once fully restored, the boat would be certain to be a real head turner and a wonderful sail boat.
Donabella has been priced to reflect the condition, however the owner will consider offers.
