North Yorkshire UK
Built in 1955 she would make a lovely houseboat conversion. She has full headroom throughout although the aft store room would need cutting into the trim tank to make full standing headroom. She has a Marine Detroit 240hp engine not currently fitted. She does have a separate toilet compartment but no toilet fitted although a porta potti could be used.
The vessel was originally built as a tug for the US navy. Used to move water desalination plant on large seagoing barges. 4 identical tugs were kept in storage on land where they had a launching device. Sold off after the NATO base in Southampton was closed.
Some of the other sister tugs crossed the Atlantic back to the US under their own power.
She does come with the engine and twin disc gearbox, some ships windows, two large round portholes and brand new Rockwell insulation.
This is a tug which has a lot of potential and is well worth a look. 2011 survey available.
