Ex Heavy weather Pilot boat in excellent condition. Epoxyied Hull and all recently repainted decks and superstructure. Heavily constructed of mild steel, the hull is mainly 9mm and the deckhouse is gavanised. Shannon has a 14.7 litre 6 cylinder Caterpillar turbo diesel with only 6500 hours fitted in a walk around engine room with a large workshop. She had a service speed of 10 knots and has a range of 1500 nautical miles at 9.3k. Shannon left service in 2001 and was refitted to a comfortable standard as a long range ocean going cruiser/ live aboard. The present owner lives aboard with his wife and has cruised just under 3000 sea miles. She is fitted with towed stabillisers which are easily removed, as is a manual crane fitted to the rear deck for launching the inflatable complete with Honda outboard.
She sleeps 8 in 3 cabins, 4 generous bunk berths in the forward cabin. A double with domestic sprung matress in the main cabin and a 'snug' double in the deckhouse. The heads includes a walk in shower and the galley has a twin burner and oven LPG cooker and microwave. She has a fixed dinette in the main cabin and seating for 8 in the deckhouse. A full shore link mains system supports TV inc digital top box, stereo, video, and domestic fridge. and there are mains outlets throughout the ship. Heating is via wet radiators powered by a Reflex fuel oil boiler and the pressurised water system is heated by an LPG instantaneous boiler. She has seperate grey and black water holding tanks and
equipment includes an auxillary hydraulic toggle steering system simplifying tight manouvers, an hydraulic anchor windless and 100 metres of 11mm high tensile chain with both Danforth and Fisherman anchors, an RDF 6 man liferaft, Furuno Radar, GPS, echo sounder, Active radar reflector, and Navtex.
The owner is giving up boating and hence Shannon comes with a very full inventory including everything necessary to live aboard comfortably and to put to sea. She is sea ready but currently ashore in Melton, Woodbridge, Suffolk awaiting inspection and economic survey. A very sturdy sea going vessel suitable for long passage making or simply living aboard. She could be easily modified for use as a survey vessel or dive boat. The price has now been reduced by 10% |
