As you would expect this vessel is built to exacting Naval standards and with the safety of twin Perkins T6345's, each with a separate tank, driving its own gearbox, shaft and prop, you just know you are coming home under your own power.
Unbelievable manoeuvrability with twin screws and rudders, no need for unreliable bow-thrusters here, this boat turns in a perfect circle in her own length.
The semi-displacement hull is from the drawing board of the legendary John Thornycroft, it is safe and comfortable at 19 knots in force 6! This is why the world’s police and harbour authorities joined the Navy in using these amazing boats.
The aft cabin seats 10 around the cocktail table, the forward cabin (with heads) is an ideal wet room for divers and the rear deck is a very safe fishing area – this is a very versatile boat.
Reason for sale – I have a growing business to work in and no longer have the time to enjoy the boat. Although I live 2 minutes form Strangford Lough where she was moored I just did not get out often enough to justify owning a boat. This Nelson has been very well looked after and provides a fantastic opportunity to purchase something sturdy but refined. She has excellent sea keeping abilities and handles the rough stuff with ease whilst giving you the benefit of luxury inside.
The boat was refurbished in 2008 and has had new props, shafts, rudders, headlinings and upholstery. The engines have been well maintained and have been overhauled twice since the boat was commissioned in 1991.
