"Outback" is the newest Hatteras 48 Long Range Cruiser to the market. With her raised pilothouse and sturdy profile, this Hatteras 48 LRC has a strictly business, yet classic appearance and definitely is a proven offshore passage maker. Outback's raised pilothouse sets her apart from many considerations. From here, the 48 LRC can be operated in complete privacy with convenient access to the rest of the boat. Twin sliding doors provide quick access to the decks, and a settee/watchman's berth is fitted abaft the helm. The 48 LRC is built on a heavy fiberglass hull with a full keel providing protection to the props and rudders. She is hull #21, the preferred standard layout and features the spacious master suite with a luxurious tub. With 112-hp GM diesels, the Hatteras 48 LRC will cruise 6.5 to 7 Gallons/hour burn with 2 mains on cruise and 1 generator running! At cruising speed the range exceeds 2,000 miles. Keep in mind that this design was during the 70's great oil shortage.
Pride of ownership is very apparent when comparing her to sister ships. She has been a fresh water boat since 2001. Her many recent refits backed by her regular documented professional maintenance will impress you, as well as your surveyor.
